Before making his International debut in 2007, Pollard was part of the Under-19 squad that toured Pakistan in 2005. He was the top-scorer of the first 50-over match. In 2006, Pollard was selected for the squad, he couldn’t make a huge impact.
In the same year, Pollard joined English County Club Haxey Cricket Club, later he played for T&T CC in July 2006. In the next two years, Pollard remained the key player for Trinidad and Tobago that led to his selection in ODI team. In April, Pollard was given ODI cap against South Africa.
